Artur considers his works on paper as abstract... every square centimeter is drawn as an abstract composition, the entirety of the work forms a figurative image composed of multiple abstractions. His attention to detail is immaculate. The subject matter is strongly influenced by his violent childhood in Uzbekistan and in Israel as an "Oleh Hadash", where he arrived when he was 7. Art has always been Artur's way of escaping reality into his own world of fantastic imagery, composed of multiple fragments of memory. As a rebellious student in Art school he had much difficulty getting through the first years, but eventually got recognized in his final years and graduated with honors. He studied drawing, painting, sculpting, photography and video and continues to draw, photograph, sculpt, and create video installations.
